Hiking tour in Abisko

Aurora Sky Nation and Lapporten
Abisko is located 86 kilometers northwest of Kiruna and we at Hotel E10 help plan your mountain hike and arrange transfers to and from your destination. In Abisko (in northern Sámi Ábeskovvu) live about 100 inhabitants and here you will find some of the world’s longest marked hiking trails. Here is a grocery store and information about the hiking trails can be found at STF Abisko Mountain Station. Take the opportunity to hike or take the cable car up to Aurora Sky Station. Here you see the fantastic “Lapporten” best, which is one of Sweden’s most depicted mountain motifs that annually attracts tourists from all corners of the world.
Abisko National Park
Abisko National Park is located about 100 km west of Kiruna and can be reached here you can easily get by car and bus along the E10 or by train to Abisko Tourist Station. The national park is open all year round and is said to be one of the world’s best places for the northern lights. Are you visiting the national park during the summer months of May, June, July or August there is midnight sun which means that the sun never goes down and it is bright around the clock. An absolutely fantastic experience.
Kungsleden Abisko – Nikkaluokta
From Abisko you can also hike the northern part of the Kungsleden, Abisko – Nikkaluokta. A real adventure of 108 km that is estimated to take about 7 days to go. Along the trail there are three mountain cabins with shops, Abiskojaure, Alesjaure and Sälka. The Swedish Tourist Association classifies the Abisko – Nikkaluokta trail as 1 of Sweden’s total of 12 signature trails. What characterizes a signature trail is its beautiful nature and the characteristics of its part of Sweden.
